Drury University's Dual Credit Program
Drury University’s Dual Credit opportunities allow high school students to take classes either during regular high school hours or online with other high school students and earn both high school and university credit at a greatly reduced rate.
The online registration due date is preferred by December 17, 2018. Registrations are due no later than January 11, 2019 to prevent book delays.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Students enrolled in Drury dual credit will receive a student ID number allowing them access to resources through Drury’s Olin Library and the ability to view their Drury college transcript.
- Faculty members teaching dual credit courses are approved by the same process as all Drury University adjunct faculty. Faculty teaching dual credit courses hold a minimum of a master’s degree in the subject field.
- Dual credit allows students to earn credit hours that are generally transferable to other accredited 2 year colleges and 4 year universities.
Please note: each school decides who can or cannot take dual credit classes. Please contact your high school counselor to see if dual credit is offered at your school.
- Students in the 11th and 12th grades with an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) are automatically eligible for dual credit courses.
- Students in the 11th and 12th grades with an overall grade point average between 2.5 – 2.99 (on a 4.0 scale) must provide a signed letter of recommendation from their principal or guidance counselor and provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian. - Students in the 9th and 10th grade interested in dual credit must also meet the additional criteria listed below:
- Students in the 10th grade must have an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and must provide a signed letter of recommendation from their principal and guidance counselor and provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- Students in the 9th grade must have an overall minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), score at the 90th percentile or above on the ACT or SAT, and provide a signed letter of recommendation from their principal and guidance counselor and provide written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Enrollment in courses offered at your high school:
- Students will enroll at their school, in their specific dual credit class.
- Students must complete all information on the enrollment form. Information must be printed legibility. Remember the information you are providing is establishing your university transcript.
- PLEASE BE SURE THE ADDRESS YOU LIST ON THE ENROLLMENT IS THE ADDRESS WHERE YOU RECEIVE MAIL.
- The legal name is required since this class will become a part of the official college transcript.
- Students will be instructed by their dual credit school representative when and where they should return their completed form and payment.
- Students 18 years of age must still have the parent signature on the enrollment form.
- ADDING A CLASS: Students are not allowed to enroll in a dual credit course after the semester is over. **Your high school may have specific deadlines for dual credit enrollment. In this case, Drury will follow the guidelines at your specific high school.
- Drury’s charge per credit hour for classes offered at their high school is $70.00 for seated classes; online coursework is $90.00 per credit hour.
- Payment may be made in the form of check, credit card, money order or cashier’s check made to Drury University, not your high school.
- Payment should not be made with cash.
- Your enrollment will not be processed if your payment is not attached.
- Dual credit payments are not refundable. Dual credit does not follow the same payment calendar as students attending the Drury campus.
To enroll in an online class, current semester offerings are located under Dual Credit Resources. Please pay close attention to the enrollment due date.
Courses taken in the dual credit program will be graded with a letter grade and recorded on an official Drury University transcript. The dual credit instructor has been approved to teach as an adjunct instructor for Drury University. The grade earned in your dual credit class will be recorded on both your high school and Drury University college transcript. It is possible that the college attended after graduation from high school will included your dual credit grade in your first semester grade point average. It is important that you plan on making an A or B in your dual credit course.
Students may drop or withdraw from a dual credit class in the same semester it is taken. Dropping the dual credit portion of a class does not mean the high school class has been dropped. When dropping or withdrawing from a dual credit class, the parent, high school counselor and student signature are required on the Drury drop/withdrawal form.
After the two week deadline, student may withdraw from their dual credit class, however the full tuition cost will still be charged to the student's account. A "W" (withdraw) will be reflected on the student's college transcript. To obtain the withdrawal form, please contact the dual credit office, 873-7331.
You will receive a course syllabus from your high school classroom instructor at the beginning of the semester. It is important that you keep a copy of this syllabus in case the college/university you attend after high school graduation requires this.
Once your enrollment is completed, you will receive your Drury ID number by mail. This number is important when you are ordering your college transcript.
To order your official Drury transcript:
- Go to my.drury.edu.
- Enter your Username and Password and click Login.
- Click on the Student tab.
- Click on Student Self-Service (link located on the left side of the page).
- Click on Order or track a transcript.
- The site will walk you through placing your order, including delivery options and fees. You can order as many transcripts as you like in a single session. A processing fee will be charged per recipient. Order updates will be emailed to you. You can also order your transcript by going online to www.studentclearinghouse.org.
